China vows to remain a 'promising land' for foreign investment amid Trump tariff war

China on Monday promised to protect US firms as it responded in kind to 34 percent tariffs imposed last week by US President Donald Trump. China’s retaliatory tariffs were “aimed at bringing the United States back onto the right track”, said vice commerce minister Ling Ji.
