Katie Price has revealed she is turning to headline-grabbing treatment Ozempic over her fears her 28-stone son Harvey will die as his weight continues to balloon.

The former glamour model became emotional as she disclosed plans to put her son, who suffers from a rare genetic condition that causes constant hunger, on the Ozempic injections, designed to treat diabetes but which are also used by the rich and famous to lose weight.

Katie, 46, is worried that without intervention, her eldest son, 22, could face life-threatening health issues due to his escalating weight.

She revealed that leading doctors have recommended the use of these injections for Harvey, with the hope they could potentially save and enhance his life.

She admitted that Harvey’s situation is “really serious” and highlighted the risk of him suffering a heart attack. The mother-of-five candidly stated that Harvey’s condition means he isn’t currently losing any weight.

In an interview with the Sun, Katie expressed: “He’s putting on weight. It doesn’t matter what we do. He can’t put his shoes on without sweating. He can’t walk far because he gets out of breath.”

She attributed these struggles to his weight and mentioned that doctors suggested the injections to improve his health and longevity.

Harvey suffers from several debilitating conditions including autism, septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder, as reported by the Mirror.

Katie views the injection treatment as a positive step, noting that it can be halted if there are any adverse effects on Harvey.

“We’ve tried food, he’s had dieticians, it’s just the way he is,” she added, assuring that the treatment won’t interfere with any of his other medications.

The reality TV sensation has revealed that doctors are keen for her son Harvey to trial weight-loss injections for “one or two years” to monitor his response.

Dr Zoe Williams told the Sun: “A recognised symptom of Prader-Willi syndrome is an everyday constant insatiable hunger and desire to eat which is more pronounced than most of us will ever experience. Managing weight is practically impossible so it makes sense that medical teams would consider weight-loss injections as a therapy for these patients.”

She also noted that in certain scenarios, coupled with broader clinical care, the injections could prove potentially life-saving.

Last month, Katie faced rumours suggesting she was using the jabs herself after observers pointed out her weight loss.

Addressing the issue on Rob Moore’s podcast, Disruptors, she dismissed such speculations and attributed her weight loss to discontinuing IVF treatment, saying: “So people have said I’ve lost loads of weight. Now there’s a programme coming out in January, my IVF journey. Anyone you know who’s had IVF, you put on weight. I had three IVFs the past 15 months. They all failed.”

Katie also explained her injury’s effect on her weight, stating: “It started from when I broke my feet. They said I’d never run again. So I couldn’t run, wasn’t exercising, couldn’t ride my horses, so basically, I was in a wheelchair for 10 months.”

When quizzed about her knowledge of weight loss injections, she confessed to having no personal experience but revealed that her son Harvey was set to begin the treatment.

She elaborated on her caution due to Harvey’s medical needs: “No, but Harvey’s going on that. So I’ve had to sit there with the doctors. I think when it comes to things like that, I think because of Harvey and all the medication and that he has, I think people have to be really careful with things like that.”

She also asserted her own lack of need for such measures, stating confidently, “I don’t need it. I never have done. I’ve always been skinny. Look at old pictures of me. Always been tiny.”
